With Darwin, the Data Dude
It seems
like just yesterday I was reminiscing with Gwen, remembering when
my world consisted of playing guitar in the 'Haight' and marching in peace rallies.
My friends and I were changing the world, thousands of Hippies chanting “Tell it Like It Is, Man!” in unison.
Now I spend waaaay too much time in conference rooms, telling people stuff about their data
and IT systems that, frankly, they'd rather not hear. Now that I'm in Data Governance, I'm doing a lot of Conflict Management work.
I'll bet you are, too. You know, we're all still changing our world, but, instead of demanding change, we're doing like
Gandhi said – being the change we want to see in the world.
Anyway, folks like us can't just say the first thing that pops in our heads. Some of
those thoughts are harsh, and definitely bad karma. So in the spirit of
generosity, I thought I'd share with you some “diplomatic” terms I've learned
over the years that I say instead of what I'd really like to utter. Enjoy, and…
