Knowledge Discovery (DK)
Knowledge Discovery, a process in which information that is embedded within other sets of information is unearthed, generally to be combined with other pieces of data to result in a view of a subject. Also known as Data Mining.
Knowledge Management
A discipline, program, or functional group focused onentifying, creating, presenting, and distributing information for reuse, awareness and learning. Knowledge Management programs are typically tied to specific organisational objectives and are intended to achieve specific outcomes. Examples are expertise location, shared intelligence, improved performance, achieving competitive advantage, or higher levels of innovation.
