National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
An agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce that develops and promotes measurements, standards and technology, and manages the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Non-Functional Requirements
A requirement that specifies an aspect of the system that does not directly relate to behavior, such as reliability, maintainability, and performance.

Normalization
The process of converting complex data structures into simple, stable data structures.

Null Value
A special type of value for a field in a data record. A null value indicates that the value for that field is missing, unknown, not yet know, or inapplicable.It is used in place of a zero, which would not be accurate, because zero is a value.
