On-line Analytical Processing (OLAP)
A process that allows a person, using an application, to analyze data stored in a database or data warehouse, in real-time. The focus is on analysis and decision-making. OLAP is in contrast  to OLTP (On-Line Transaction Processing), which is used in transactional systems.

On-line Transaction Processing
A traditional task of relational database management systems: processing transaction as part of day-to-day operations, such as purchasing, payroll, banking, reservations, etc.

Open Architecture
When a manufacturer publicly publishes the specifications for their computer, the computer is said to have an open architecture. This allows other companies to create add-ons to enhance and customize the machine, and to make peripheral devices that work properly with it. With a closed architecture, only the original manufacturer can make add-ons and peripherals. (DMReview definition)

Open Database Connectivity (ODBC)
A standard for database access co-opted by Microsoft from the SQL Access Group consortium.

Operational Data Store
A database designed to integrate data from multiple sources, for the purposes of facilitating operations, analysis and reporting. Because the data originates from multiple sources, the integration often involves cleaning, redundancy resolution and business rule enforcement. Wheras a Data Warehouse generally stores aggregated data, an ODS is usually designed to contain low level or atomic (indivisible) data such as transactions.

Organizational Change Management
A discipline for helping people throughout an organization learn new behaviors and skills.so the enterprise can adapt to a transformation or major change.
